Who I am

Hi! I’m Brendan, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who is deeply committed to supporting people through life’s challenges with warmth, care, and compassion. I strive to be kind, nonjudgmental, and genuinely present in the therapy space, drawing on both professional training and lived experience. Having personally navigated cancer, grief, and many of the day-to-day complexities that life can bring, I understand how overwhelming and isolating these experiences can feel. For over 25 years, I have educated, counselled, and empowered youth and adults through periods of growth, stress, and transition; this background continues to shape my relational, grounded approach to counselling.

As a counsellor, I bring this breadth of experience into my work, offering a flexible, personalized, and eclectic approach that is tailored to meet you where you are. I specialize in working with individuals of all ages who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life and career transitions, chronic illness, narcissistic abuse, or a desire to reconnect with meaning and purpose in their lives. I draw from gold-standard evidence-informed approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and humanistic frameworks, adapting each to fit your unique needs, goals, and pace.

While counselling often begins by addressing distress or challenges, I also believe that a life without problems is not, on its own, a fulfilling life. Part of our work may involve intentionally exploring what brings you a sense of meaning, purpose, connection, and enjoyment. Together, we can focus not only on reducing what feels heavy, but also on building a life that feels richer, more aligned with your values, and genuinely worth living.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and respected.
